NEW : DAY 1 Shuttle
Be trendy,
At DAY 1 Catamarans, we are convinced that passenger transport by sail is both beneficial for the planet and poised for strong growth in the coming years. That is why we have decided to launch DAY 1 Shuttle, our new range of shuttles dedicated to passenger transport by sail.
Sailing at the heart of maritime transport
With DAY 1 Shuttle, we offer tailor-made passenger transport catamarans that use sails as their main source of propulsion. Inspired by centuries of sailing, sails have evolved into a reliable industrial solution, designed to meet the real needs of regions and operators. More than a symbol, sails are a powerful and sustainable primary propulsion system, engineered for everyday use.
A 100% custom-built vessel tailored to your operating program
In the standard 80-foot configuration, DAY 1 Shuttle vessels are equipped with a 165 m² gaff mainsail, combined with a 105 m² solent and a 40 m² staysail, ensuring strong performance in both light and heavy wind.
They are also fitted with a central wheelhouse, providing the captain with enhanced visibility over the operating area.
With a high freeboard, DAY 1 Shuttle 80′ vessels ensure the safety and protection of up to 185 passengers on board, under all operating and sea conditions.
Finally, a dedicated luggage area as well as a bicycle rack are located at the aft of the catamaran, ensuring passenger comfort and autonomy during boarding and disembarkation.

Performance, reliability, and fuel efficiency on every crossing
Sailing as the primary means of propulsion
Reduction of between 80% and 90% in CO2 emissions, thanks to very limited use of engines.
Robust and responsible industrial design
Ship construction using our proven Process One Shape and manufacturing with recycled composite materials.
Ships suitable for all weather conditions
Ships offering excellent performance in light winds and proven reliability in heavy weather.
Slow down to move forward more effectively
Reduce your fuel consumption by 10 times!
Whereas a thermal-powered shuttle depends entirely on fuel, the DAY 1 Shuttle consumes only about 10% of its energy from fuel, with the remainder supplied by wind power.
This approach significantly reduces emissions while keeping operating costs under control. Less fuel, greater efficiency, a practical and cost-effective solution for sustainable maritime transport.
Lightweighting: a necessity for decarbonization
The performance of the DAY 1 Shuttle vessels is based on a holistic design approach, where every technical choice serves a clear objective: reducing fuel consumption while maintaining a regular and reliable line service.
- DAY 1 Shuttle vessels rely on the proven One Shape composite design process.
- The use of deliberately simple and well-suited materials and equipment contributes to the lightweight construction of the vessels.
- The combination of a lightweight structure and a generous sail plan enables optimal sailing performance.
- Strong sailing performance makes it possible to install smaller engines, suited to port maneuvers and safety situations.
- Together, these elements enable significant decarbonization while reducing operating costs.
Lightweight construction and wind propulsion therefore reinforce each other, providing a concrete response to the challenges of performance, cost control, and decarbonization in maritime transport.
